Overview

YouTube Control is a Brave/Chrome extension that modifies YouTube page behavior in your browser based on settings you choose.

Extension permissions (current version)

• storage: used to save extension settings in your browser.
• https://www.youtube.com/* page access: used to apply features only on YouTube pages.

What the extension stores locally

The extension stores settings in chrome.storage.local, including:

• blocked channel entries
• block mode preference (lock or remove)
• Shorts shelf removal preference
• Posts shelf removal preference

This data is stored on your device as extension configuration.

What the extension does not do

• No account creation or login is required for extension features.
• No payment information is collected by the extension.
• No personal profile is built by the extension.
• No extension analytics or ad tracking is currently used.
• No extension backend is required for core functionality.

Website and support form data

The support website is separate from extension local storage.

If you submit the support form, the site processes the data you enter (name, email, topic, message) and stores the submission server-side for support handling. The server may also store technical request metadata used for abuse prevention and operations, such as timestamp, IP address, host, and user agent.

Email notification delivery may use local server mail configuration or a configured email provider.

Website server logs

Depending on hosting/web server configuration, normal access logs may be generated and may include technical request information (for example IP address, user agent, requested path, and timestamp).

Data sharing

No personal data is sold. Data is not shared for advertising or data brokerage.

Retention and deletion

• Extension local settings can be removed by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage.
• Support submissions are retained on the support server until deleted as part of support operations.

Security

Reasonable steps are taken to keep the extension and support site simple and secure. No storage or transmission method is risk-free.
